Bugatti EB 16/4 Veyron overview

Bugatti showed a new Veyron concept car at the 2001 Frankfurt show. Though this car resembles the original Bugatti EB 16/4 Veyron, it is dimensionally closer to the final production version and shows a more accurate representation of the super plush interior. The retractable rear spoiler also was not present on the original. It is being engineered, positioned and priced as the worlds ultimate exotic car. The most interesting aspect is revealed above, that being its 8.0L quad-turbo charged 16 cylinders powerful engine, rated at a world beating 1001hp at 6000rpm. The W16s estimated torque output is an equally astounding 922 lb-ft, maintaining that level from 2200 through 5500 revs. The engine's W configuration means two individual vees of eight cylinders each, banked at 90; it features double overhead camshafts, direct gasoline injection and four-valve-per cylinder heads-that's a total of 64 valves. Chassis development is Bugatti has announced the Veyron will have a seven-speed electro-hydraulically controlled manual transmission and full-time all-wheel drive. It'll employ a fully unitized all-aluminum chassis and roll on 20-in. magnesium wheels. The interior design is a study in stainless steel and aluminum, suede, and leather; count on an impressive list of electronic hardware. Many of the Bugatti Veyron styling elements dazzle the eye, but perhaps the most impressive are the large aluminum airintake scoops that fare into the rear deck and the W-16's exposed intake manifold. More specs and user manual of Bugatti EB 16 you can see in next review.
